September Updates

In short, there isn’t much to update.

His Brother’s Bride has been approved as an audiobook and should be available in the next 4-6 weeks!

I seriously thought things would slow down for me in September, but so far it hasn’t happened. I think I mentioned I was the vice-chair on my boys’ school board. For as many meetings as we had those six weeks leading up to the start of school, I didn’t think there’d be anything else to discuss. I was wrong and I spend large quantities of time each day dealing with school matters, or…

My 150-mile bike ride for MS is coming up next weekend. While I’m once again excited and nervous, I’m also half-dead from all the training. Last year, my husband and I rode about 2-5 miles per day, then went on a long one once a week. By long I mean about 10-14 miles with the longest ride we’d ever done being a one-time 28-mile ride. Not so this year. My husband insists on riding close to 20 miles per day with a few that are longer (like 30 or 50) thrown in every so often which leaves me exhausted! But it’s for a good cause! Also, this year, I must admit that we didn’t reach our goal, but instead came in at $3,499.90 as a total for digital and audiobooks. I have to take responsibility for not coming anywhere close to our goal. When July started, I had no idea I’d be put into a position to make a school building that hadn’t been used in 10 years operational, recruit students, write a full handbook and 100 other things. So I really wasn’t out promoting it like I should have been. I do thank those of you who did so in my place. It also might have been more beneficial to use a newer book that had never been on sale before.

Anyway, between bike training, academic business and starting my publishing house, I haven’t had a lot of time to do the amount of writing I’d like to, nor blogging, but I hope to change that very soon!

I hope you are all having a wonderful start to your fall and that it’s not nearly as hot there as it has been here!

Enjoy the afternoon!

  1. I’m tired just thinking of riding that far. I’m doing good at 2 miles a day…before summer started. I’ll have to push myself further once it cools off.

  2. Rose, holy cow, I am tried just reading this. I admire your dedication and the attention you give your family! Too often these days we see parents that do not. It is this dedication and attention that we love about you!

Good luck on your ride and we look forward to hearing how it went! We are all rooting for you! πŸ™‚

  3. You are SO busy! But I think you like to be, don’t you?

I’m so impressed with the amount of riding you’ve done. That makes me want to dust off my bike (literally), pump up the tires, and get going. I spent over $300 on that bicycle, and haven’t ridden it nearly enough. 😦

Share your thoughts--I'd love to hear them!
