New International Paperback Giveaway

Just to catch anyone up who may not know: I currently have two books, His Contract Bride and His Yankee Bride listed at Goodreads for a signed giveaway as well as a signed copy of Intentions of the Earl and To Win His Wayward Wife  at TifferzReviewBlog. (Links to all three of this will be listed at the bottom.)

However, I was asked if it was possible to open a giveaway Internationally. So after much thought and brainstorming, I have come up with a way of entry–it is a bit unconventional like myself though, be warned.

This school year, I accepted the position as homeroom mom and as such, I must bake and bring treats to all of the class parties. Sadly, I am not Susie Homemaker, Martha Stewart wannabe and my experience with making adorable little snacks is limited to Nilla Wafer & York Peppermint Patty hamburgers, Buckeyes (peanut butter balls) or the “Poor Man’s Turtles”.

So…  I’m in desperate need of recipes and that is to the good fortune of anyone who wants to enter a giveaway for a signed paperback.

Here are the rules:

What to do: Send me your favorite recipe for a fall/autumn themed treat–note: there is NO baking necessary. Baked treats are fine, but it doesn’t have to be. Also, please, no Halloween specific recipe as this party will be taking place after Halloween in time for our Thanksgiving, so just fall or harvest themed will be great.

Where to send it: Here on this page in the comment section would be best so they’re all together, but if you are a Facebook follower and would prefer to post it on FB or send it to my email address: rose@rosegordon.net that’s fine, too.

When to send it: Anytime between now and Friday November 9, 2012, I’ll be taking entries.

Who can enter: Anyone. This is open worldwide!

How many entries: One per person, please. If you submit multiple recipes, that’s great, but I’ll only enter your email address into Random.org once.

How do you win: There will be at least two winners. I’ll select one at random from all the entries using Random.org; then the second winner will be the person whose recipe I use. If more than one person submits the same recipe, I’ll go back to Random.org to determine the winner. Also, if I get so many that I cannot decide on just one and make two, both entrants will receive the prize.

The prize: Winner’s choice of any signed paperback in my backlist they’d like.

Disclaimer: I reserve the right to change the rules of this giveaway at any time. Please be fair to others who’d like to enter and refrain from entering multiple times under different screen names.

If you have not already entered the other giveaways I mentioned at the beginning, please feel free to follow the following links. All three are only open to those in the US. I have no control over winner selection, but entry is free.

  1. Thank you A LOT!

so a recipe for Fall…i don’t follow a exact recipe but i will try to be clear:
    small apples or pears cakes

you take the basic recipe for a “quatre quart”
    250 gr butter
    250 gr flour
    250 gr sugar
    250 gr eggs

then apples or pears ( your choices)
take a bowl put th eggs ( complete white and yellow) add the sugar and mixte it
    Melt the butter
While the butter is melting slowly add the flour to the suggar and eggs.
When the flour is added and incorporated add the melt butter until your pasta is uniforme ( not too liquid! not hard)

Then either you have chosen one fruits ( apples or pears) or you want both . If you want to make 2 kind of small cakes divides the pasta into 2 bowls. if you want make only kind go to next step

    Choose your fruits juicy
cut them in dices ( the smaller you want the cake, the smaller the dice)
    add them to the pasta.

Then you must taste a bit if your fruits were without a high level of sugar, you can add some
Your pasta must stay the same consistency than before you add the fruits ( since the juice is making it more liquid add a little bit of flour until you get the same consistency- taste so you put enough sugar)

put the pasta in the small cake plates ( i don’t know how many are sell in your country, it’s also depend on the size, mine for small cake are amould with 16 spots)
You can also do only one big cake it change nothing

    cook at 175degres around 40min .
It can be a bit longer so check to see if you knife can be put in it and be dry when you take it out: it’s cooked, if there is pasta on the knife let it cook a bit more.

^^;; i hope it’s clear, i’m really sorry but it’s more an instinct for me so putting it into words is not that easy

thank you a lot for the international giveaway

    all the best

  2. oyups a detail: if you xant to do one bowl with appels and the others with pears the processing is the same , ( it can also be mixed but it’s not as good)

  3. Cookie brownie pie! I made it for Thanksgiving last year.
    http://www.instructables.com/id/Cookie-Brownie-Pie/ <-my full recipe
    Chocolate chip cookie dough
    Brownie mix
    Caramel or dulce de leche

Line a pie pan with cookie dough and bake. In another pie pan, bake it half full of brownie mix. When they are both done, put caramel on the cookie dough baked pie. Now, put the baked brownie on top of that. Top with a layer of caramel. Enjoy the best pie ever!

  4. This is my families favorite during the holidays!

    Pumpkin Crumb Cake:
1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 cup butter, melted
1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
    3 eggs, beaten
    1/2 cup white sugar
    1/4 cup packed brown sugar
    1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    1/2 cup white sugar
    3 tablespoons butter, softened
    1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Spray or grease one 9×13 inch pan.
    Reserve 1 cup cake mix.
In a large bowl, combine the remaining dry cake mix with 1 egg and 1/2 cup melted butter. Mix well, and then pat into prepared pan.
In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin, 3 eggs, 1/2 cup white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Pour over crust.
In a small bowl, combine reserved 1 cup cake mix, 1/2 cup sugar, and 3 tablespoons softened butter. Crumble over pumpkin filling.
Sprinkle nuts evenly over the top, if desired.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes.

Serve warm topped with whip cream or ice cream!

  5. this is what I love to eat ^-^

    Swedish Apple Pie

    2/3 cup raisins
3 medium apples (about 2 2/3 cups), any baking variety, peeled and
    1 tablespoon sugar
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

    3/4 cup butter or margarine
    1 cup flour
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional

Heat the oven to 350°. Place the raisins in a small bowl, cover them with hot water, and microwave them on high until they become plump, about 20 to 30 seconds. Drain the raisins, then combine them with the apple slices. Transfer the fruit to a 9-inch pie pan (it should be no more than two-thirds full).

In a small bowl, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and sprinkle the mixture over the fruit.

To make the topping, first melt the butter or margarine and set it aside. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, salt, and egg until they’re evenly blended. Whisk in the butter or margarine, then spread the topping over the fruit and sprinkle on the nuts.

Bake the pie until golden brown, about 40 minutes. Serve it warm, with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if you like. Serves 10.

  6. Fall Acorns

These are so cute for fall and super-duper easy to make.

    Melt 1/2 bag of Mini-Chips {5 second interval in the microwave, stirring really good each time}
Dip the flat end of the Hershey’s Kiss into melted chocolate and top with a bite-size NutterButter. (This is the acorn and the top)
Dip the flat end of a Mini-Chip into the melted chocolate and stick it to the NutterButter.(This is the stem)
