Blog Hop Winner and MS Total for July

A huge thanks to all who entered into my Hero Hop giveaway for a chance to with a $50 gift card to Amazon or Barnes & Noble. But there could only be one winner…

And the winner is:

Lisa G (Wophcall)

Congrats, Lisa and thank you to all who entered. I’ll be doing another in the near future.

Multiple Sclerosis Donation!

I am literally speechless. I’ve added up all the totals and thought I might swoon. Fortunately, I didn’t .

As most of you who’ve kept up with my posts know, I don’t like to share numbers. However, since I made this a very public thing, I feel it’s only right since I got so many of you interested. (If reading about sales numbers makes you uncomfortable, I do apologize. This is a one-time thing and only about this book.)

So, without any further ado, here we go:

Our goal was a conservative, but still impressive $5,000.

Using royalty rates that varied from 35 cents per sale all the way to 60 cents, we beat the goal and raised a total of…$8,623.83 and that’s just what I know of! I won’t have an update from Apple for about two or three weeks, so this total is based on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Smashwords and ARe.

I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was (and still am) with that amount, and I know without certainty that it would have never been reached without some help.  After my last update, someone asked how many books it took to get to that number. The answer is: 22,298. So, if you bought a copy for yourself or a friend, whether out of pure interest or just to be supportive, thank you very much, it was very much appreciated as this is a wonderful cause to support.

Also,  there was well over $100 that came in via private donations, a huge thank you to those who contributed there, too.

  1. Amazing results for the MS race. Way to go! That is a lot of books sold, well at least it seems so to me.
Congrats to the winner of the blog hop.

    • Thanks, Sarah!

Yes, that is a lot of books sold, it’s not just you who think so. I’ve personally never had so many of one title sell in any given month (except free downloads, but I don’t count those) I was very lucky this past month and the cycles that be at B&N–the place where the majority of those sales took place–were in my favor. A true blessing.

      • I know it always made me smile to see it advertised as a top book in the B&N shop on my Nook. Like I wrote it or something.

      • LOL You might not have written it, but how many people can go around saying they’ve gotten a personalized book from the author? Only about a dozen. That counts for something, doesn’t it?

Share your thoughts--I'd love to hear them!
