Random question for a chance to win a signed copy of Her Imperfect Groom

The question today to win a signed copy of Her Imperfect Groom is very easy:  What is your favorite travel destination, US or otherwise?

  1. Anywhere near the ocean. I love spending time along the gulf coast in Florida: warm weather, white sand, and full days of hunting for shark’s teeth. But I also love the San Diego area: different water, park-like beaches, and groups of wild sea lions to photograph. Thanks a lot Rose… now I want to go to the beach and I’m stuck here in plain old Illinois! 🙂

  2. I would have to say Washington, DC. I LOVE going to the Smithsonian, and I swear I could just spend days in the National History Museum(and I have). My uncle used to live in Fredericksburg, VA and all through high school we would go up twice a year, for spring break and Veteran’s Day, to see him and spend time at the museums. Last summer, we went up there, and it was a whole new experience viewing the Natural History Museum through they eyes of my very curious almost 2 year old, who loves animals and bugs!

  3. I have two answers, of course. My first would be anywhere along the Puget Sound in Washington state. I have been up and down the Sound and I just love it all. My dream is to get my husband there one day. I haven’t been in over 14 years and I so desperately want to go again, but alas, all our vacations take us to PA and NY to see his side of the family. Which brings me to my second answer. Two years ago my husband finally got me to one of his favorite places, his aunt and uncles house on the Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks in Upstate New York. It was so beautiful up there and actually reminded me of the Pacific Northwest. I love lakes and oceans but I like the wooded areas and not the tropical locations. We have enough palm trees here in the desert of AZ, believe it or not, that tropical has never interested me.
I am going to miss these question of the day post. They have been so much fun to answer and to read all the answers. Thank you again. By the way, To Win His Wayward Wife is just sitting on my nightstand so I can see it every night before I go to bed and every morning when I wake up. It puts a smile on my face just to see the actual book sitting there.

    • Oh wow, Sarah! I grew up in Oregon and traveled all over the Pacific Northwest. It is GORGEOUS, isn’t it? I, too, have been trying to get my husband out there, but alas, we have not gone. (Yet.)

Even more odd, two years ago, we were also in upstate NY in the Adirondacks. We went to Paradox Lake where one of my favorite pictures of myself was snapped. We were in canoes and for the first time ever, I actually looked decent when I was looking at the camera.

I’ll be honest–and vain–it puts a smile on my face to see the actual books, too. LOL I don’t have them on my nightstand though, but a copy of all seven are all lined up in my office.

      • That is not a vain thing to do. If I ever had published book I would do the same thing.
I was about 6 months away from moving to Washington when I met my husband and fell in love. That changed my plans dramatically.
We were in the Adirondacks in July of 2010. My husband used to go every year for a guys only week long camping trip. He hasn’t done that since 2009. After our trip I realized why he NEEDED to go every year. It was so beautiful and relaxing, even with our four boys along. Strangely the trips stopped happening once he finally got me there.

    • Our family went to Williamsburg, VA and camped at Chesapeake Bay, VA. That’s the only time I’ve actually been TO the Atlantic Ocean and it was wonderful! A stark contrast to the Pacific where I grew up.

  4. I have had an opportunity to go to some neat places throughout the U.S., but probably my all-time favorite would be Charleston, S.C. It’s beautiful, so rich with history and near the ocean. It’s the perfect backdrop for a book too! 🙂

    • Hmm, I saw that suggestion–and you just might be surprised that that’s already where I was thinking to put Carolina Ellis (soon-to-be Banks) from. Plus, it gives me a reason to go visit!

  5. hi,

i don’t go on holidays very often so either London because there i can find books and see my best friend, or Swizterland: pure air, sinalco, caotina ^^ but that’s so long agao….

    • I’ve never been to London… I’d love to go, but I have to put aside my pride and confess that I’m deathly afraid to fly over the ocean.

I hear the skiing in Switzerland is superb. Once again, I’d love to go, but the ocean creates a bit of a problem and I haven’t heard any rumors of a very, long bridge…

      • I am afraid to fly over the ocean as well. Those flghts are way too long as well. Although, British Airways flies out of the Phoenix airport.

  6. I really like Montana and Cherokee, NC but my favorite place to visit is wherever my grandkids are which is SD now (they moved there last Nov.)

  7. Kentucky. My family is from there and we always make a stop to visit the home my great-grandma grew up in. It’s so beautiful there, plus I have a cousin who lets me ride his horse 🙂
