Random Question for a chance to win an autographed copy of Liberty for Paul

Before I get to the question, I need to add a quick note. Last night, I had a sleepless night thinking about today’s giveaway. See, I just KNOW there will be scores of entries for this particular book since it’s an ABSOLUTE favorite of so many. *grins* So, it was a great relief that I came to a solution: in the event that there is an overwhelming response (which I’m sure there will be…) I shall just have to give away two copies.

Okay, enough of my silliness, I know that to some Liberty comes off to some as an unlikable shrew who only a certain type person could love–so on the plus side, if you do like her or this book, your chances of winning are highly in your favor!

The question:

Your acting skills aside, you’ve just been approached to play the leading role in what’s to be this year’s largest grossing romantic comedy. Which movie star would you to be casted as your love interest?

Once again, this is open to everyone. Best of luck to all!

About the prize:

Liberty Banks loves revenge almost as much as she hates one Mr. Paul Grimes, who, she considers to be the most improper creature she has ever clapped eyes on. But when her plans for revenge against Paul go bust, she suddenly finds herself walking down the aisle to him.

Once married, a battle of the wills breaks out as each tries to reform the other. Liberty wants nothing more than to have a proper husband, and Paul will stop at nothing to have is all too proper wife do something–anything–to break the rules of society, specifically to do the most improper thing imaginable, fall in love with the most improper man: her husband.

*Prize will be in the form of one (1) signed paperback copy.

  1. Simon Baker with no hesitation. Although I personally like dark haired men rather than blonde there is something about his appearance that appeals to me.

  2. I am almost done rereading this book I have to say I am enjoying more this time around. I never thought Liberty was a shrew and of course this book got the most laughs out of me the first time around. I would not be disappointed winning this book.
Now for your question…. Since I can’t choose my husband because he isn’t an Hollywood actor, although he does act in our church productions, I would have to go with? This is tough, I don’t have a lot of movie crushes. Maybe Ben Affleck because he seems like a really nice family man in real life. If I had to go with my biggest TV crush it would be Pasha from So You Think You Can Dance. I have been in love with him since season 3. Of course he is not really an actor so the movie would have to have lots of dancing. I would think a waltz would definitely be in order.

    1. So funny that you mention enjoying that book better the second time through. You are the second person who has told me that! LOL

You took my choice, by the way! I was going to say Ben Affleck if I had to choose, too. But you can have Pasha!

      1. It’s funny because I have never been one of those people who falls in “Love” with someone from the movies or TV. Sure I think some of them are good looking, but I never had posters and didn’t by the teen magazines. So I had to go with someone that I liked from what I have read in all the People magazines that I look through while in waiting rooms. Ben just seems like he has really settled down since getting married and having kids and he does a lot of stuff for the less fortunate.
As, for Pasha (who I don’t even know his last name) that just came about as a joke really with my husband. He is always pointing out this hot girl and that hot girl to me, so I had to have someone. Now he just rolls his eyes at me whenever Pasha makes an appearance on the show, which by the way is the only TV show I watch. We have been TV show free in our house for almost 2 years.
I have had to look up some of these men that have been mentioned because I had no clue as to who they were.
Oh and I am now rereading To Win His Wayward Wife. YAY! The beginning is so much better knowing who it is, although I had my suspicions when I read it the first time.

      2. I don’t generally pick celeb crushes, either. I’m the last person to care about another person’s looks.

Oh, and I liked the beginning of that book, too. But I knew who it was the first time I read it. LOL

  3. Ooo…that’s a tough one. I would have to say Colin Firth or Jason O’Mara. I am of the same mind as LeeAnn…I prefer dark-haired men.

  4. Ok… The answer to this question makes me feel a tad creepy (mostly because this particular person became popular after starring in a Disney Musical for pre-teens) but Zac Efron has grown up! Have you seen the new Men’s Health cover or the trailers for the new Nicolas Sparks’ movie ‘The Lucky One’? That fella is fine! and a very credible actor… I have a bit of a movie star crush on him… can you tell? 🙂

    1. Oh my goodness, Darah, you gave me a much-needed laugh! By the way, there is NO shame in a movie star crush. Well, unless he was STILL staring on a Disney Musical, then that might be creepy.

      1. This is my favorite answer so far. I was wondering if anyone would pick him. He has certainly grown up and I actually haven’t seen any of the HSM movies. I did love him in 17 Again and that is an older movie. I can’t say I have a crush on him because that would just be downright cougarish for me. I think he is about 10 or so years younger than me.

    1. Amanda, fortunately for you, you haven’t had to endure my painful blog posts and comments for quite as long as some of the other posters, so they may be more prepared for what I’m about to say, but it might creep you out a little. Sorry.

I have to admit that I skimmed your message. I opened the email at the same time that my husband started talking so I read the line really fast and all my eyes saw was: Gerald Butler. LOVE him PS I Love You!

I kid you not, I nearly deafened my husband when I yelped, “What?”

Then, I went back to reread the sentence and saw that all important word “IN”. I’ll be honest, I was a little disturbed at first. I guess that’s what I get for not devoting my full attention to what I’m reading. Sorry!

Thanks for posting and I hope I haven’t now disturbed you!

      1. I’m not disturbed, but that did make me laugh. I do that kind of thing all the time!

  5. David James Elliot – starred in Jag as Harmon Rabb and is now in Good Christian Belles on ABC – and I agree dark hair is a must – Blondes just don’t do it for me either!

    1. Thank you, Linda.

Uh, ladies, what is what all of you loving dark haired men YET so many of you claim Benjamin (a blond) to be your favorite hero of mine?!?!?! Do you all picture him with dark hair or what! LOL

      1. You know it’s funny because when I started rereading it today I was reminded that he was blond. I knew Paul was, but I guess it’s just the name Benjamin that makes me think dark hair. Some names just seem to be certain hair colors to me. My funny example of that are the old Bill and Ted movies, I always thought they had the actors playing the wrong character. To me Ted should be blond and Bill should have dark hair. I suppose I am strange that way. So I guess the first time reading it I was picturing him with dark hair. I am doing my best to keep Benjamin blond this time thru. Maybe I will have to do what LeeAnn said and picture Simon Baker. HaHa.

  6. James Marsden. I loved 27 Dresses and think he can be Super attractive while still managing to be funny. That’s always a turn on.

    1. Oooh, he is good looking! I think he manages to be attractive and funny at the same time because he doesn’t act too goofy. Sure he pulls a face every now and then, but he doesn’t act stupid in an effort to be funny.

    1. Just looked him up on IMDB…he plays the king! How fun. My husband’s history professor suggested we watch that series. Now that I know there’s a handsome king to stare at, I might be more willing.

      1. He played Johnny Donnelly if I remember right. But it’s been a LONG time since I saw that show–plus I was only 12-15 while it was airing. So I could be wrong, but I think that was him.

  7. I read the question picked my answer then clicked to this page and was amazed my answer was the first on the list sooo simon baker.
