Things you’re NEVER too old for

Yesterday I boldly admitted I was an adult who had reached a milestone birthday earlier this month and realized some things are just better left for kids. But you know, there are some things–a lot of things actually–that are thought to be “kids only” things can be enjoyed just as much, if not more so, by adults, such as:

  • Popsicles–just not so much the orange and purple ones, we are the adult here, at least with the cherry ones, if it dyes your mouth  a little it still looks natural
  • Bubble baths
  • Legos and Matchbox cars–with just these two toys, the possibilities are endless
  • Waterslides
  • Rollercoasters
  • Cotton Candy
  • Goldfish (the food)
  • Push-ups (from the ice cream man, NOT the bra)
  • Being read to
  • S’mores
  • Sledding
  • Hayrides
  • Campfires–preferably when camping, too
  • Swinging
  • Singing in the shower
  • Eating a piece of cake for breakfast
  • A good practical joke
  • Playing air-guitar–as a disclaimer, I only do this when I’m trying to motivate my children to clean up because my voice alone singing it wouldn’t be enough, we need an instrument, thus, voila, the air guitar!
  • Water balloons
  • A “weenie roast”, accompanied by a little jingle I shall not repeat here
  • Driving with the windows down (loud, off-key singing optional)
  • Imitating funny accents when telemarketers call…
  • Checking the mail
  • Opening packages that come in the mail
  • Going to Sonic (or somewhere similar) for a late night ice cream
  • Running through the sprinklers on a hot summer day
  • Stepping on pinecones/leaves just to hear them crunch
  • Jumping in a pile of leaves when nobody’s looking…
  • Having lunch in a fort constructed of sheets and blankets in the living room

Have any things you did as a kid you still secretly love to do as an adult, tell us about it!
